Eco-educational salt trail - Sovata

Full description

The Salt Valley is a special place within the protected area. The density of values and their diversity required the creation of a thematic path in this area. It starts from the shores of the Bear Lake, after climbing a steep slope to the Serpent Lake, a swampy place with fresh water, with specific flora and fauna. From here you can reach Mierlei Lake with salt water and untouched natural surroundings. The route continues to the mountain of salt with bees and plants that live only in this place. On the southern side of the route, the valley opens to large salty areas, water-drained slopes and salt mud ponds. From there, the route returns to the northeast and crosses the eastern bank of the Salt Valley, reaching Aluniş Lake and the shores of Ursu Lake. The route is very varied, but without major scrutiny difficulties.

This route was created to present the specific values of the lakes and the mountains of salt, of the habitats in the wet environment.
