It was a long time ago in Romahon, under the moon prince's world, "where you can only get in your dreams," that King Zorálió and Queen Luludia lived with their thousand children. There were so many of them that Romahon, the kingdom of dreams, could no longer accommodate them.
So, Zorálió, the king of the Roma, sent all his children into the wide world, wherever their hearts desired. Let their skills as carriers and craftsmen be useful to people, and with their dances and songs, let them bring joy to the people of the earth!
Thus, in Averföld, Prince Gundzsár fell in love with the most beautiful daughter of the Roma king, the dance-footed Zurinka. But their happiness was short-lived: they were pursued by Dzsungália, the cunning witch. Long ago, Dzsungália sold her heart to the Devil Father, so King Zorálió banished her from Romahon. The witch hoped that by pursuing Zurinka, she could return to the land of dreams and take revenge on the Roma king.
However, Zorálió defeated Dzsungália; and Zurinka and the others returned to the wide world over the rainbow bridge, where they could dance and sing carefree forever. They spread the news of the moonlit land bordering the rainbow.

The Hungarian premiere of Zurinka took place in 2005 at the Ariel Theatre and was renovated on June 25, 2023.
