I’LL WALK YOU HOME
Portrait Film Screening about András Berecz, Singer and Storyteller
February 9, 2026, 7:00 PM
The name András Berecz is legendary. He tells stories, sings, translates, analyzes the world, and teaches – in Hungary, Transylvania, or even in America. Through his tales and songs, he is able to convey truly important messages anywhere, whether on a classroom podium or on stage.
The 52-minute portrait film I’ll Walk You Home, directed and shot by Sándor Karácsony, is not a complete listing of his works but an insight into András Berecz’s vision, perspective, and creative world. We learn why he translates Chuvash beer songs, how he teaches forgotten folk songs, how he discovers illuminating truths in tales and songs, and how comedy becomes an authentic voice in weighty dramas.
Cheerful stories, tales, and songs resonate, friends and musical collaborators recall memories, and on the wavelength of playful unpredictability and consistency, the artist’s world unfolds before us.
Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with the audience, where András Berecz will be present in person.
