In Real Time / Teodor Zugravu - exhibition

Jul-26
The CasApold Association invites you to the opening of the new exhibition within the TRANS.FORT 3.0 project:
IN REAL TIME – LINOCUT & GRAPHIC JOURNAL AS FORMS OF IDENTITY IN MOTION
– an exhibition by Teodor Zugravu
Opening: July 19, 2025, 7:00 PM
White Tower – GALERIE OFFSPACE, Fortified Church of Apold, Mureș County
Specially curated music by VYGO
The exhibition will be open from July 19 to September 30, 2025, during the APOLD fortress visiting hours.
"IN REAL TIME" brings together two visual forms of expression – linocuts and graphic journals – which, though technically distinct, follow the same conceptual thread: the transformation of identity through repetition, observation, and gesture.
On one hand, a series of 8 fluid portraits reflects identity as a constantly shifting form, mapped through time by variation and repetition. On the other hand, hand-drawn journals document immediate reactions and spontaneous thoughts, building a direct and visceral graphic memory. Visitors will be able to physically browse through these sketchbooks — silent witnesses of an artistic and personal journey.
Together, these two modes propose a dual reading: between control and impulse, matrix and improvisation, repetition and evanescence.
This is not an archive.
Not a making-of.
It is a time capsule — a graphic confession where control and spontaneity overlap.
The exhibition becomes a visual map of identity in transformation.
A memory drawn in real time.
Also open to the public:
Visitors can explore other components of the TRANS.FORT project: permanent exhibitions – hiSTORY, IN-tâlnire and INtransilva – set up inside the church, the Oat Tower, and the Guardian’s House, as well as the reimagined garden with new interactive and multisensory spaces under the concept GREEN ENCLOSURE (INCINTA VERDE).
TRANS.FORT is a cultural initiative of the CasApold Association, breathing new life into the Fortified Church of Apold through contemporary art, historical research and documentation, and interdisciplinary interventions.
Now in its 3.0 edition, the project offers a platform where built heritage interacts with visual art, music, performance, and curatorial experimentation. TRANS.FORT becomes a place of encounter between past and present, craft and contemporary expression, community and artist – transforming the ancient towers and walls into a living, open, and relevant space.
