The Oresteia by Aeschylus

"The Oresteia" is a new and engaging adaptation of the Greek tragedy, in which a revealing operation has been carried out on Aeschylus' epic trilogy of revenge (the only complete ancient trilogy remaining intact 2500 years after its writing), while keeping the essence of the tragedies intact – presenting the fall of the House of Atreus. It is a theatrical creation that rearranges the understanding of mythical characters and the stories transmitted through them, offering a merciless lesson in ambivalence. Paradoxically, an action can be both "good" and "evil", with good and evil being a hair's breadth apart, and the choice of lesser evil is a human dilemma we have been facing since ancient times. In fact, we can observe that some aspects of human nature have not changed even in 2500 years, and many of the inner questions from then have still not found their answer.

It is a lively and vital spectacle, extremely relevant, speaking both about crime and trauma, and about justice, religion, the nature of stories, and our need to continue to retell and repeat them, individual life versus the common good, the inevitable consequences of foreign wars and violence but also about the multiple different accounts of the same story – all with black humor sprinkled here and there. The show, with a duration of two hours, takes you through a multitude of states, offering a concentrated and thrilling experience to any spectator, whether you are familiar with the stories or not.
