Classics around the world

The right to exist of classical music will always be unquestionable, for all people. It is in our everyday lives - and not just in concert halls! Who hasn't encountered a piece by Mozart in an elevator ride, or Bach's Tocata and Fugue in D minor when the telephone rings, the anthem of the European Union, which is inspired by the fourth movement of Beethoven's last symphony (Ode to Joy), or the iconic scene from the cartoon series Tom and Jerry, which would not have been created if Franz Liszt hadn't written the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2. However, we often forget how diverse the genre is, and that there are many fantastic composers working in many parts of the world, in addition to the great Central European composers mentioned above.
The aim of this series of concerts by three young artists - Dorottya Dénes, Péter Kiss and Bence Szigeti - is to explore the best of classical music through a journey around the world, listening to works by composers of different nationalities. The 75-minute programme will take you to Germany, Spain, Brazil and, of course, our beloved Hungary.
Be part of this special musical journey! Let's learn together the language that is understood all over the world: the language of music. Because as Karl Julius Weber said: 'Music is the true language of the world'!
Dorottya Dénes - gordonka
Péter Kiss - accordion
Bence Szigeti - classical guitar
