A performance that speaks, with dark humor, about the things that surround us and that we sometimes consider foreign to ourselves.
Romania, or any other place on Earth, sometime in the 1990s. Or perhaps right now. Or in a period of transition. Three generations share the same room, which becomes the center of their universe. An ordinary day in their lives.
What do we do when family relationships become strained? What do we do when everything around us turns extremely fragile? What do we do when war, pollution, or deprivation become routine, a kind of sinister normality?
We smile, we laugh, and we carry on, just like the Metal Girl, Alina, the Old Woman, Aunt Marinela, and the Actor. They show us that no matter how hard things may be, in the end, everything is fine between us.
Everything Is Fine Between Us is a commission by TR Warszawa and Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, Berlin. The title is taken from a text by Tomasz Adamski.
