Annunciation Cathedral

The Annunciation Cathedral in Târgu Mureş, known also as the Small Cathedral is located in the city center, next to the mayor's office. Its size is not reflecting a small cathedral, but rather a larger chapel. Built in 1926-1936, the church was designed in the style of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, and also named after. It was consecrated on September 8, 1936.

In 1948, the communist regime banned the Greek Catholic Congregation, so the church was received by the Greek Orthodox. The Romanian Greek Catholic Church has repeatedly requested the return of the building, but this has not yet happened
