The fishing lakes of Glodeni-Păingineni-Fărăgău

The area around Lake Fărăgău is designated as a protected natural area, due to the flora and fauna species protected by national and European legislation. The pond was formed naturally, by the blocking of river Sar with alluvium, with an area of 35 ha and a depth of 4.5 metres. It became a reserve in 1990 and is the only lake around Mureș with extensive areas of reeds and rushes, forming floating isles. The fauna is represented by more than 180 species of birds that nest here or pass through the area.
