Dream after William Shakespeare (dir. Nicolas Cristache)
Nov-20
at the Small Hall
Following the success of the production The Tempest, Nicolas Cristache offers the Târgu Mureș audience a new encounter with the fascinating and inexhaustible universe of William Shakespeare.
“‘Dream’: a new dynamic and vibrant interpretation of Shakespeare’s most delightful comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, explores the complexity of love in all its forms and complications, through a story that unfolds like a kaleidoscope of emotions.
Love is the key word around which the entire action is built, and as the story progresses, it reveals more and more shapes and shades, transforming this abstract idea – Love – into something tangible that we can see, feel, and taste. The Dream carries us toward the meeting point between two worlds – the physical and the metaphysical, the free world and the one constrained by society’s rules and pressures. We are invited to reflect on the nature of love, observing how it has the power to transform any situation it touches.
In a daily reality where fear and violence seem more widespread than positive emotions and feelings, this performance aims to offer the audience a necessary escape filled with humor and fantasy, blending the real with the imaginary and reminding us of the extraordinary power of love to bring harmony into our lives.”
