The exhibition “Between the Surface and the Infinite. Vásárhelyi – Olos” presents the latest works of Antal Vásárhelyi, set in dialogue with the creations of Mihai Olos.
These are two artists connected not only by friendship but also by a shared vision — a passion for interpreting the optical projections of reality in multiple dimensions and translating them onto a plane.
This encounter is both a tribute to Mihai Olos and an invitation to reflect on how art can become a space for friendship, cultural dialogue, and universal forms.
Antal Vásárhelyi was born in 1950 in Satu Mare. He studied in Bucharest and settled in Hungary in 1979. As an artist, curator, and dedicated organizer of contemporary art, he led the Hungarian Association of Etchers and Lithographers and the Budapest IX Gallery, organizing more than 150 exhibitions.
His international experience — from Nuremberg to Japan, via France, Italy, and Cambodia — shaped a broad perspective and open-minded approach, where science and art find a common language.
His works create geometric structures and symbolic spaces where time seems to stand still. In dialogue with Mihai Olos’ universe, these pieces build bridges between the concrete and the infinite, form and idea.
The exhibition invites reflection and exploration — a visual journey showing how art can connect cultures, eras, and artistic destinies.
