Festive folk show

The Bekecs Folk Dance Ensemble is the troupe of Nyárádszereda, a town rich in folk dance traditions. Since 2017, following various theatrical collaborations, it has been operating as a Folk Dance Theater. In June 2023, Bekecs was transformed into a state institution and now continues its cultural activities under the name Bekecs Dance Theater, after being established as a subordinate institution by the Municipality of Nyárádszereda.

The foundation of Bekecs' self-assumed mission is to preserve and pass on folk culture and traditions through the universal language of folk dance. The Bekecs Dance Theater places great emphasis on showcasing local, primarily Transylvanian, dances and folk customs, while also eagerly presenting dances and traditions from other regions. Spectators can witness a novel selection of folklore performances from recent years. The Festive Folk Show features a selection of dances spanning various regions, including the dances of Nyárádmagyarós, Gyergyó, Feketelak, Kalotaszeg, as well as the folk dance treasures of Bukovina.
