In memory of Kallós Zoltán -

The folk dance performance prepared in memory of Kallós Zoltán bears the title "Rare Hungarian", which refers firstly to the dance and musical traditions of our distinguished folk music researcher's paternal and maternal homeland (Kis-Szamos region and Northern Mezőség), and secondly, this compound word carries a series of connotations, which can be considered symbolic: it can refer to the depopulating, scattering Hungarian population of the Mezőség, but also to the exceptionally outstanding, thus rare career of Kallós Zoltán himself. At the same time, Kallós Zoltán also wants to convey an important message, drawing attention to the transience of human life, emphasizing the importance of what we leave behind for future generations. This was considered very important by "Uncle Zoli" for all of us.
