Joël Pommerat: The Reunification of the Two Koreas
The reunification of the two Koreas is a dramatic kaleidoscope: the people are as different as shattered, colorful fragments that never form a whole, yet strangely complement each other. The performance captures the fragility of human relationships, their fleeting intimacies, and the constant foreignness in absurdly humorous images. In human destinies, there are no universal truths or final solutions. Just as the colorful mosaics of the kaleidoscope are endless, Pommerat’s characters also fail to find eternal peace. The performance presents to us despair and hope, then reminds us that although our relationships may sometimes be just shining fragments, they are still the most important pieces of our lives.
Director: Porogi Dorka
Performed by the second-year master’s students in acting: Deli Szófia, Farkas Eszter, Hajas Krisztián, Molnár Gergely, Rubold Emília, Székely G. Krisztina, Szigyártó Johanna, Tar Erik
Dramaturg: Barna Léna (third-year theatre studies)
