Several storylines intertwine in this provocative, ballad-like tale set in a no man’s land on the craziest day of the century. The characters of our film are mostly connected by chance, and as we follow them from dawn until late at night, their stories gradually unfold in vivid detail. In the viewer’s imagination, a surreal mosaic-like world comes together, evoking the atmosphere of paintings by Marc Chagall, where fairy-tale and emotional elements coexist with frighteningly dark, apocalyptic motifs.
