Piazzolla - La Historia del Tango

Jun-29
PIAZZOLLA – La Historia del Tango — an extraordinary Argentine tango performance that pays tribute to the great composer and musical genius Astor Piazzolla. The show is staged by the “Cluj Tango Orchestra” Cultural Association at various philharmonic halls across the country and beyond.
For the second time, we return to the stage of the Cultural Palace of Târgu Mureș with another exceptional Argentine tango show, featuring the full lineup of the CLUJ TANGO ORCHESTRA and professional Argentine tango dancers!
Astor Piazzolla revolutionized Argentine tango music, leaving an indelible mark on this genre. Elements of jazz and classical music are present in almost all his works, which brought his music to symphonic concert halls and made him the ambassador of the new Argentine tango worldwide.
The “Cluj Tango Orchestra” performs with the support of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Romania and Moldova, and in collaboration with the Romanian National Opera in Cluj. It is the first Argentine tango orchestra in Transylvania, made up of professional Romanian musicians who are members of the Cluj State Philharmonic, the Romanian National Opera in Cluj, the Hungarian Opera in Cluj, and the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy.
With extensive stage experience gained in philharmonic halls and at Argentine tango festivals in Romania and abroad, the orchestra brings enchanting tango music to audiences.
During the evening, you will hear Astor Piazzolla’s most famous works, such as “Libertango,” “Oblivion,” and “Adios Nonino,” along with lesser-known pieces like “ViolentTango,” “Soledad,” and “Chiquilín de Bachín.”
Additionally, we invite you on a true journey through time, exploring the golden age of Argentine tango from the 1920s to the 1950s, leading up to Astor Piazzolla’s brilliant compositions.
