Peony Festival at the Castle – 3rd Edition

Castelul din Zau de Câmpie
On April 25–26, we gather again at the castle for the third edition of the Peony Festival, where family is at the heart of everything. This year’s program is an invitation to spend quality time together in a beautiful natural setting—two days of discovery, creativity, play, and relaxation.
Program Highlights:
Exhibitions
• “My Village” exhibition – artworks created by young artists from the “Wilhelm Demeter” Painting Club, coordinated by Rozalia Farkas, with participation from students of Zau de Câmpie Secondary School.
• Stands with craftsmen, artisans, and local producers – peony- and castle-inspired objects, traditional goods, and authentic creations.
Workshops & experiences for children
• Demonstration workshop in leather and metal crafting – a rare experience, presented for the first time at the festival.
• Puppet-making workshop – children create mascot puppets and learn to bring them to life.
• Face painting – colors, characters, and smiles.
• Beaded jewelry workshop – creativity and handmade accessories.
• Crepe paper flower workshop – peonies and other flowers made by children.
• Children’s theatre shows – two interactive performances by Trupa Artya.
Outdoor activities
• Treasure hunt “The Peony, the Flowers and the Castle of Zau” – an educational family adventure.
• Guided tours and guided bike tours – discover the castle and its natural surroundings.
Film screenings
• Documentaries dedicated to remarkable historical figures: Iuliu Maniu and Ecaterina Caradja.
Local gastronomy & tastings
• Traditional products and meetings with local producers.
