The Mureș County Museum is pleased to announce this year’s edition of the Night of Museums, which will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2026 – a new invitation for the public to rediscover cultural heritage in a lively, accessible, and surprising way.
The previous edition once again confirmed the strength of this event: dozens of partners, a large and engaged audience, and an extensive program with activities held across numerous locations. The vibrant atmosphere, the diversity of cultural offerings, and the growing public interest have turned the Night of Museums into a true landmark of cultural life in Mureș County.
Building on this success, the 2026 edition aims to take the experience even further, with hundreds of activities prepared for all ages and interests. The Mureș County Museum is mobilizing all its departments, each contributing to a rich and varied program:
- The Palace of Culture – an emblematic space that will come to life through exhibitions, artistic interventions, and special moments
- The Art Department – featuring exhibitions and art-focused encounters
- The Ethnography and Folk Art Department – highlighting traditions and the living heritage of communities
- The History and Archaeology Department – offering engaging journeys into the past
- Limes Park – interactive experiences and reconstructions that bring history closer to visitors
- The Conservation and Restoration Laboratory – offering a rare glimpse into the behind-the-scenes work of the museum
This year’s event will also continue to emphasize collaboration, involving numerous institutional and cultural partners, transforming the entire community into an open cultural space.

Access to all activities – including those of partner institutions – will be granted, as in previous years, via the Night of Museums access wristband, which can be purchased at the ticket office of the Palace of Culture, at all departments of the Mureș County Museum, as well as online via the Visit Mureș website.
