Contemporary Creations Based on the Church Works of Painter-Carpenters from Komárno
Éva Ament, a folk artisan and furniture painter instructor, has gathered a wealth of material over her 30-year career in furniture painting. She believes that one of the most exciting tasks related to this long-term work is organizing the collected materials. A long-held dream of hers came true when, together with her students and fellow creators, they practically processed the most characteristic examples.
The church works of the painter-carpenters from Komárno rightfully bear the description "marvelous," as they are splendid works from the 18th century. These masters were characterized by a high level of technical skill and strong drawing abilities, making them role models for contemporary furniture painters. The exhibition reconstructs the works of 19 Komárno masters—or their direct apprentices—with individual panels, bench ends, and gallery balustrades.
The exhibition opening will take place at the Várgaléria in Târgu Mureș on September 21, 2024, at 4:00 PM and will be open until October 20, 2024.
