Colours of Maramures - Traian Bilțiu-Dăncuș

Traian Bilțiu-Dăncuș is the first great Romanian painter from Maramures of national importance, awarded, but marginalized and forgotten! His works depict the village and the Maramures peasants, captured in the most diverse poses, against the backdrop of the spectacular landscape, with their daily occupations. The exhibition brings together 120 paintings, sketches and photographs, many of the works having been donated by the artist's family to the Maramureșean Museum in Sighetu Marmației, which, after more than half a century, now presents them to art lovers from all over the country.
