High-Angle Rescue is an action-packed heroic story about a father and his son, as well as a portrait of a city that has lost hope.
The film’s protagonist is Félix Sándor (Bogdan Dumitrache), a firefighter specialized in high-angle rescue operations. He becomes a guardian angel for people who want to end their lives. Félix is determined to save everyone, bringing people down from bridges and tall buildings. The city desperately needs his work, as the unusual and relentless rainfall has left people increasingly restless, driving more and more of them toward suicide. It feels as though a virus is spreading, though no one knows the cause.
Years earlier, Félix lost his wife in an accident, and his relationship with his son (Börcsök Olivér) has hopelessly deteriorated, although the boy is closer to his father than Félix realizes. As Félix struggles to reconnect with his son and help those around him, he sets dramatic events in motion and comes to understand that nothing is what it seems.
