Lúdas Matyi
Organized children's performance
The musical fairy tale based on Mihály Fazekas’ classic work is not unknown to the audience in Sfântu Gheorghe, as the ensemble staged it in 2001 and 2008 with considerable success. The 2024 premiere is a revised version of these, which will be performed with multiple casts.
Háromszék Dance Ensemble's Lúdas Matyi differs in many ways from its original form. "He still retaliates his grievances three times, but the methods are more contemporary. The setting is also more colorful: the goose is in love with Matyi, and Döbrögi has a fitting companion in the form of a power-hungry, greedy wife." (Ferenc Novák)
