“Love Doesn’t Need Beauty” – Transylvanian Folk Song and Operetta Tour
The charity concert titled “Love Doesn’t Need Beauty” is a special encounter between two beloved genres – Hungarian folk songs (nóta) and operetta. It evokes the warmth of nostalgia and the joy of theatrical art, offering audiences a moving and uplifting live musical experience.
The ten-stop Transylvanian tour will travel through the most beautiful towns and villages of the region during the summer of 2025, bringing the finest gems of these musical styles to audiences in an intimate and heartfelt atmosphere.
In Târgu Mureș, we warmly welcome all fans of nóta and operetta on Sunday, July 6th at 6:00 PM. Support tickets are available at the Charity Shop on 6 Forradalom (Revoluției) Street, across from the Art High School, between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, and also at the venue before the performance.
What makes this concert series unique is that, for the first time, long-time friends of over 14 years, Hajlák Attila István, a Roman Catholic priest and folk singer, and Nemes Tibor, actor and singer, will take the stage together. Their long-cherished dream is coming true this summer: to perform as a duo throughout an entire tour.
Performers:
Hajlák Attila István – folk singer, founder of the Nóta Kaláka Movement
Geréd Nikoletta – young and passionate folk singer
Nemes Tibor – actor and singer (Budapest Operetta Theatre, National Theatre of Pécs, Petőfi Theatre of Veszprém)
Mikita Dorka Júlia – actress, partner of Nemes Tibor
Máthé Péter – concert pianist
The Nóta Kaláka Movement Orchestra – authentic live Gypsy music
The evening will feature some of the most popular Hungarian nóta melodies and timeless operetta hits, enriched with personal stories, anecdotes, gentle humor, and theatrical performance – creating not just a concert, but a complete theatrical experience.
