Love, land, marriage, interests. Which one is more important? The happiness of the young couple, or—according to centuries-old peasant law—the unification of estates, which will provide livelihood for a new family. Love? Can a future be built on the happiness of a moment? Is society, the "law of the land," and common sense stronger than the mutual desire of two people?
For director Attila Vidnyánszky, the personal aspect of the story is more important than the social one. The power and strength of love, and the possibility of a future in fulfilled love... Those who have seen his productions of János vitéz and Johanna a máglyán have experienced how Vidnyánszky brings the sweeping power of emotions to the stage in grandiose compositions. In addition to the excellent cast, the dynamism of the production is ensured by the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble.
