Retrospective Klein József - temporary exhibition

The Center for Culture, Art, and Leisure Târgu Mureș invites you to the Citadel Gallery for a new temporary exhibition titled "Klein József – Retrospective."
The opening will take place on Thursday, April 17, starting at 5:00 PM, with an introductory speech by Mr. Robert Strebel, the curator of the exhibition and the manager of the Baia Mare Artistic Center County Art Museum.

Through this exhibition, we present to the public the artistic activity of one of the emblematic artists of the Baia Mare Artistic Center, József Klein, a complete artist whose diverse creative work spans painting, engraving, drawing, sculpture, industrial art, and book illustration.

The curatorial concept brings together artworks from the museum's own collection as well as from partner institutions.
 Thus, the exhibition features more than 70 works by the artist — paintings, graphic works, and a sculpture — from the collections of the Baia Mare Artistic Center County Art Museum, the Center for Culture, Art, and Leisure Târgu Mureș, the Cluj-Napoca Art Museum, as well as from private collections.

These works offer a glimpse into the talent of this iconic artist of the Baia Mare School of Painting, whose legacy we celebrate through this retrospective exhibition, marking 129 years since his birth.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until June 30, 2025, at the Citadel Gallery within the Medieval Citadel of Târgu Mureș.
