Kaláka - concert (HU)
Aug-31
The 55 year old band Kaláka will hold a children's concert at the Valtoarea Mureseana. The two-time Kossuth Prize-winning orchestra was founded in 1969 in Budapest. They sing poems. Their music is diverse and, as a result of the poems, their style is diverse. The individual sound is created by the combined play of four singing voices, classical and folk instruments.
The members of the Kaláka ensemble and their instruments:
Gábor Becze: double bass, guitar
Gryllus Dániel: flutes, zither, panpipe, clarinet, tárogató
Gryllus Vilmos: cello, guitar, charango, cobos, doromb
Radványi Balázs: mandolin, 12-string guitar, ukulele, cuatro, viola, kalimba
At Kaláka concerts, children are not only listeners but also participants in the performance. As the musicians all attended the famous Lórántffy music primary school, which taught according to the concept of Zoltán Kodály, they are both the justifiers and the conscious users of this musical education. At the concerts they present their special instruments. During their tours they also play with great success for children of other mother tongues.
The Kaláka children's concert will take place on Saturday 31 August at 11 am on the Figura stage of the fortress.
