János Vitéz (János the Knight)
-a fairy tale by the Maros Artistic Ensemble, based on the poem of the same title by Sándor Petőfi-
For more than 150 years, János the Knight has been one of the most beloved stories for children and adults alike.
How does Kukorica Jancsi become János the Knight, how does he defeat bandits, witches, and giants, how does he rescue the French princess from the clutches of the Turks, and most importantly, how does he find his lost Iluska and win eternal happiness?
The two main messages of this narrative poem for today's children are that love is the most important guiding principle in life and that everyone must take responsibility for the consequences of their actions, just as Kukorica Jancsi did when he lost his flock.
Director-choreographer: Ferenc Novák (Tata)
Composer: László Rossa
Scriptwriter: Péter Novák
Choreographer's assistants: Tünde Rémi and Szabolcs Lengyel
