Our beloved comedian was born in the city of Arad, grew up in Bacău, and settled in Bucharest when he started university.

He graduated from the Faculty of Installations in Bucharest and fondly remembers his beautiful student years, a time that marked the beginning of his career as a comedian. He never regrets choosing the path of humor as a profession and remains deeply grateful to all those who have inspired and supported him throughout this life journey, both in Romania and abroad.

After countless comedy shows written and performed over more than 35 years in the business, he remains the image of a free spirit as an artist and one of the most original and important figures in Romanian comedy. Doru Octavian Dumitru, or DOD, remains the charismatic and elegant Romanian artist who laid the foundation for Romanian stand-up comedy both before and after the 1990s. His talent and professional performances consistently embody originality and the promotion of a complex, refined, and profound humor. Through the comedy of this great popular artist, one can learn the art of intelligent humor, its purity, and the charm of naturalness.
