Joël Pommerat: Reuniting the two Koreas
The Reunion of the Two Koreas is a dramatic kaleidoscope: people as different as colourful shards broken into pieces, never forming a whole, yet strangely complementary. The performance captures the fragility of human relationships, their momentary intimacies and their permanent strangeness in absurdly humorous images. There are no universal truths or final solutions to human fates. Just as the colourful mosaics of the kaleidoscope are endless, Pommerat's characters cannot find eternal solace. The performance reveals despair and hope, and reminds us that although our relationships are sometimes just shining fragments, they are the most important pieces of our lives.
