Long distance swim competition

The Transylvania Triathlon Festival team aims to surprise participants with something new every year. This year, we have decided to organize a long-distance swimming competition as an additional event in our race series, taking advantage of the excellent conditions at Lake Bezid. The competition, scheduled for July 6, will be for both children and adults and will be held in collaboration with the Orca Sports Club from Cluj-Napoca.
Categories:
- Children – girls and boys – Age groups: 9-10 years / 11-12 years / 13-14 years / 15-16 years / 17-18 years
- Sprint distance – women and men – Age groups: 15-16 years / 17-18 years / 19-29 years / 30-39 years / 40-49 years / 50-59 years / 60+
- Long distance – women and men – Age groups: 19-29 years / 30-39 years / 40-49 years / 50-59 years / 60+
Distances:
- Children – 400 m (200 m out and 200 m back)
- Sprint distance – 1500 m (1 lap)
- Long distance – 4500 m (3 laps)
Registration fee:
- Children - 10 Euros
- Adults - 20 Euros (01.06-25.06) and 30 Euros (26.06-02.07)

Prizes: The top three places in each distance category and age group for women and men will be awarded. The award ceremony will take place in the courtyard of Rhédey Castle on the afternoon of the competition day.
General information:
- Children and young people under 18 who register for the sprint distance must be members of a swimming club.
- The water temperature of the lake in July is around 24-25 degrees Celsius, so wetsuits will probably not be necessary.
- Swim caps will be provided by the organizing team for participants in the sprint and long distances and must be worn during the competition.
The event will be organized as part of the Transylvania Triathlon Festival 2024 - Friendship Series, the day before the three main triathlon championships.
