The unique interweaving of poetry and cinematography inspired the creative team at KontemporArt to undertake the production of a poetry film. Their latest project is to bring the poems of Béla Markó to life with Transylvanian actors on Wednesday 2 October at 7pm in the small hall of the National Theatre in Târgu Mures.
The event, titled "The Common Road - Poetry meets Film", will screen poetry films by director Franciska Vincze-Simó, based on the works of poet Béla Markó. The screening will be accompanied by a talk by writer Róbert Csaba Szabó, who will discuss the process of making the films, the challenges of adapting poems for film and how poetry and film complement each other.
In addition to the poet and the filmmaker, the event will be attended by the actors of the poetry films: Örs Bálint, Szabolcs Csíki, Ramóna Gecse, László Rózsa from the Tompa Miklós Company of the National Theatre of Târgu Mures, freelance actors Anna Szász and Károly Kovács, cinematographer Attila Gáspár and composer Zsófia Ráduly.
