Ildikó Enyedi’s first feature film is a playful, poetic, and deeply philosophical journey into the dawn of the 20th century.
On New Year’s Eve at the turn of the century, twin sisters – Lili, the anarchist, and Dóra, the worldly woman of easy morals – arrive at the Hungarian border on the same train, the Orient Express. Although their life paths diverge radically, a man known as Mr. Z. loves them both as a unity, while the story branches out freely and unpredictably under the spell of Edison’s inventions.
