Archaeology Day in Călugăreni

Aug-17
The Mures County Museum is pleased to invite you on Saturday, August 17, 2024, between 10.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m., to the special event entitled ARCHAEOLOGY DAY, which will take place in the Archaeological Park of Călugăreni (Eremitu commune, Mures county). Admission is free. This event marks the inclusion of the site on the UNESCO World Heritage List, offering the public a unique opportunity to discover the results of archaeological excavations.
Amidst the restoration and development works of the Călugăreni Archaeological Park, which started in 2023 and are scheduled to end in 2026, the Călugăreni Roman Festival will take a short break. But don't worry! In the meantime, we look forward to welcoming you to the DAYS OF ARCHAEOLOGY, an intimate and exciting event where you will be able to see first-hand how the work at the site is progressing. This important project, with €2.5 million in funding (including VAT) through the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) program, was officially launched on 19 October 2023 and is expected to significantly transform the Archaeological Park.
